The Program

The New Liskeard Cubs are proud to offer a program that rivals the nation's best tier II junior programs.  With the lowest player fees in the league, Cubs players are treated in a manner befitting of semi-professional athletes. The Cubs play a 30-game regular season, with 20 minute stop-time periods.  In 2013-2014, they will also attend tournaments in Sudbury, Waterloo and Ottawa.  Here are some other features of the program:

Community support

The New Liskeard Cubs locker room features individual player stalls.  Players are supplied with helmets, gloves, pants, shoulder pads and shin pads.  The adjoining trainer's room and coach's office is fully-stocked.  Amenities include a washer and dryer as well as a refrigerator.

When the Cubs captured the Central Ontario Championships in 1996, an estimated 1500 people were attendance for the final buzzer.  The team continues to draw the largest crowds in the Great North Midget League.  A "Booster Club" helps to rally the community behind the team.

The Cubs augment their two practices per week with an off-ice session.

The Cubs travel to all road games and tournaments on a coach bus.  Hotel stays while on the road are covered by the team.
